“Owlie” Returns Home

“Owlie” Returns Home

On Thursday 6th July, “Owlie” as she is now fondly called, was released  successfully back to her home here on the hill. Owlie is a beautiful adult female Spectacled Owl who was rescued by Mr. Lee, our groundsman, after being found injured. Mrs. Lall Sobrattee, Biology teacher and animal enthusiast, immediately enlisted the aid and expertise the El Socorro Wildlife Centre. She was subsequently examined by the team at Petlife Veterinary Care Services and luckily there were no broken bones, just some head trauma which was resolved with some rest and care.

This morning a member of the Centre, Mr. Ricardo Meade returned her to her home here on the hill. We would sincerely like to thank Mr. Ricardo Meade and his team at all Socorro Wildlife Centre as well as Petlife Veterinary Care for their assistance with the rehabilitation and reintroduction of Owlie to her home. Additionally, thank you to Mr. Sham Sahadeo for helping to document the event this morning.
