Dean System

Mission

The deans of Naparima Girls’ High School will work together with administration, parents and teachers to provide pastoral care and monitor the personal, social and academic development of our students in a safe and nurturing environment.

The Deans and their year groups of responsibility are:

Form 1 – Mrs. Alana Manmohan
Form 2 – Mrs. Petra Greenidge (Ag.)
Form 3 – Mrs. Susan Umraw-Roopnarinesingh (Ag.)
Form 4 & 5 – Mrs. Sarah Balgobin (Ag.)
Form 6 – Ms. Marissa Poliah (Ag.)

The deans work closely with form teachers and meet weekly with the principal to discuss all aspects of school life which impact on the well- being of our students –

  • The Personal and Social Development programme
  • Career guidance
  • Student Performance, Conduct, and well-being
  • Needy Students
  • Parent/ Teacher Meetings

The Student Aid Fund – Funds are discreetly disbursed to deserving students for books, uniform, transportation and medical expenses. Bursaries and Grants are also managed. We welcome donations to this fund from Past pupils and well-wishers.

The PSD Programme – Form Teachers conduct sessions on topics such as Time Management, Study Skills, Career Planning, Emotional Intelligence, Family Life Education, and Human sexuality.

Peer helpers Programme – Peer helpers are trained in basic Counselling skills and attend numerous workshops hosted by “Families in Action”.

The Student Services Room – This room contains printed and Audio-Visual material on careers, Personal development, and University Calendars. This room is also used for private interviews with students and parents.
