Secondary Schools’ Sanskritik Sangam 45th Annual Convention

On Saturday 24th February, 2024, the Naparima Girls’ High School Indian Cultural Club took part in the Secondary Schools Sanskritik Sangam 45th Annual Convention. This convention aims to nurture the talents of the participating youths and encourage them to carry their heritage forward. The competition features various categories such as Essay and Poetry Writing, Public Speaking, Choral Speaking, Storytelling, Art and Craft and many more.

The students of the Indian Cultural Club displayed unwavering dedication and rigorous preparation, which resulted in their exceptional achievements in numerous categories. It is with their participation and commitment, along with the exemplary leadership of the executive members (Samara Mathura, Sarika Mathura, Nivedita Bridglal and Vinaya Bharat) and the guidance of patron teacher Mrs. Vishalli Tancoo-Mahadeo, that they were able to receive the title of ‘Most Outstanding School’.

The results of the competition for the students were as follows:

Storytelling: Sophie Ramoutar (Narrator) – 2nd

Choral Speaking – 3rd

Essay Writing
Junior: Ariel Ballantine – 3rd
Intermediate: Sarvishka Seepersad – 2nd

Poetry Writing
Junior: Renée Mohammed – 1st
Intermediate: Ambika Persad – 1st, Rianne Boodoosingh – 4th
Senior: Nivedita Bridglal – 2nd

Art (Painting)
Senior: Shanta Ragbir – 3rd

Mixed Media/Craft
Junior: Caylee Seemungal – 1st
Senior: Rianne Boodoosingh – 1st

Congratulations to the Indian Cultural Club and all participating students on your success. Your achievements were truly earned. The club would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the hardworking parents that were involved in storytelling and worked to ensure the students could put their best foot forward.
