On Saturday 18th November 2023, members of the Naparima Girls’ High School’s Astronomy Club participated in the 16th Annual Trinidad and Tobago Astronomy Club’s (TTAC) 2023 Astro Quiz. These girls persisted through the late hours of Saturday night, against 18 schools and 8 rounds of challenging questions assessing their knowledge of the universe. The team emerged 5th after a tiebreaker and outshined the other participating southern schools to be the top south school.
The team was led by team captain, Alyssa Sonoo, and consisted of Mercedes David, Teshura Samlal, Amrika Ramlogan, Anvita Ramdial, Kaylee Racha, Kaylee George and Chelsea Darbasie. However, this victory would not have been possible without the dedication and guidance of patron teacher Mrs. Vishalli Tancoo-Mahadeo.
