Vrishni Maharaj takes Riverspeak Spoken Word Competition 2019

On Friday 7th June 2019, Vrishni Maharaj of Form 4G, took part in the Riverspeak Spoken Word Competition held at UTT O’Meara Campus, Arima. She was one of 17 finalists and her performance was based on the theme ‘Our Rivers, Our Watersheds, Our Responsibility’. This competition is held annually by the Adopt-a-River, WASA and was open to all Secondary Schools.

Vrishni’s composition and performance of ‘Drip, Drip, Drip’, earned her 1st place, tying with ASJA Tunapuna. She won a hamper for the school and a $4500 book voucher for herself.

Special thanks to the Principal, Mrs. Gosine and Vice Principal, Mrs. Bally, for allowing her to participate in this competition and also to the Adopt-a-River group at WASA for providing this opportunity.
