NGHS Walkathon: A Great Success

 

 

On September 24th, 2016, Naparima Girls’ High School hosted its annual walk-a-thon

fundraiser, which can only be described as very successful. Not only was there an incredible turn out

of students, parents and friends, but there was also a diversity of activities and booths that awaited

all participants after the walk, all of which promoted the idea of practising a happy and healthy

lifestyle.

At approximately 7:10AM, the crowd followed the Naparima College Scouts band through

the streets of San Fernando where students proudly displayed their placards that were madeearlier

in the week in support the theme of “Live Well”. “Let-tuce eat well”, “Just do it”, “Don’t be a brat,

burn that fat” were just a few of the catchy slogans that could have been seen on students’ placards.

A yoga session was held simultaneously in the Auditorium of the school for those who preferred a

more relaxing start to their day. After completing the walk an hour and ten minutes later, patrons

returned to a enjoy a delicious brunch organized by the Naparima Girls’ High School Dormitory

Committee while some students took advantage of the Bouncy Castle and others tested their

stamina with a session of Zumba.

All in all, everyone who participated in the event must be commended for their support and

commitment to Naparima Girls’ since it was a morning well spent. Sincere appreciation is extended

Moo Milk and Kellog’s Cereal sponsored by Hand Arnold, Yogurt Popsicles sponsored by Flavourite

Foods. To the Staff, PAC, Alumnae, all other donors and well wishers a sincere thank you for your

generous contributions in making our Walkathon a very successful event.

If you missed it this year, you should definitely make it a priority to come out next year, as it will

inevitably be even bigger and even better.
