Smashing performance on the courts by our Naps Girls!

The  II Costa Rica Junior International Badminton Tournament was held from September 6th to 9th 2025 in San Jose, Costa Rica. Our girls participated in at least 3 events, the maximum being 5 and were extremely successful.

Our Form One student, Asia-Lee Waller, participated in the maximum 5 events obtaining 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals. Her sister, Isabelle Waller, a Form Six student participated in 3 events obtaining 2 silver and 1 gold medals and Samiya Karim, a Form 4 student, also participated in 4 events obtaining similar results.

The results were as follows:

Samiya Karim: GS U17 – silver, GD U17 – gold, XD U17 – silver and GD U19 – silver

Asia-Lee Waller: GS U13 – gold, GD U15 – silver, XD U13 – bronze, GS U15 silver and XD U15 – gold

Isabelle Waller: GS U19 – silver, GD U19 – silver and XD U19 – gold

Additionally, on August 20th-25th, 2025, the Carebaco Junior Championships were held in Barbados where our Naps girls took home numerous titles!

Asia-Lee Waller won 3 Gold medals (Girls Singles U13, Girls Doubles U13 and Mixed Doubles U13), Isabelle Waller won 3 Bronze medals (Girls Singles U19, Girls doubles U19 and Mixed doubles U19) and Samiya Karim won a Gold medal (Girls doubles U17).

Congratulations to all our girls who’ve put us on the global stage as they continue to represent Trinidad and Tobago. You didn’t just play badminton – you served up success and smashed your way to the podium! Huge cheers to our medallists – we are so proud of you!
