On November 23rd, 2024, the Naparima Girls’ High School Astronomy Club proudly secured second place at the 17th Annual Trinidad and Tobago Astronomy Quiz, maintaining our title as the top South school.
Our team of eight—Alyssa Sonoo (Captain), Mercedes David, Amrika Ramlogan, Kaylee Racha, Anvita Ramdial, Kaylee George, Teshura Samlal, and Chelsea Darbasie—showcased exceptional knowledge and teamwork across eight challenging rounds of cosmic questions. Their determination and countless hours of preparation and sacrifices, including lunchtimes and late nights, paid off spectacularly.
The spirited support from our team’s support squad earned us the award for the loudest and best group of supporters, boosting the team’s confidence during the competition.
A special mention goes to the Captain Alyssa Sonoo for her outstanding leadership and to our patron teacher, Mrs. Vishalli Tancoo-Mahadeo, whose guidance and support made this achievement possible.
