Renewable Power Caribbean visits Naparima Girls’ High School

On Wednesday 13th November 2024, Mr. Enrique Ramkaran and Miss Steffy Heera, representatives from Renewable Power Caribbean, along with their Youth Ambassador, Miss Jayda Ramjattan, visited Naparima Girls’ High School to deliver a lecture on renewable energy to the Eco-Activist and Science Club members.

During this interactive presentation, the attendees were educated on solar energy and the different types of solar panels that are utilised to capture sunlight energy. Models of solar panels and solar-powered lights and wind turbines were used as demonstrations. Mr. Ramkaran and Miss Heera extensively explained the importance of switching to natural energy sources, which will reduce the effects of climate change and pollution caused by the burning of non-renewable resources. Additionally, they introduced the students to possible jobs involved in renewable energy, so that those interested in making a positive impact on the environment can pursue their passion as a viable career.

In all, this session was very beneficial, as it provided realistic information about the feasibility and application of solar power in homes and schools. We do believe that with a collective effort, we can create a cleaner environment for all. We would like to express our deep gratitude to Mr. Enrique Ramkaran, Miss Steffy Heera and Miss Jayda Ramjattan for taking the time out of their busy schedules to make this presentation to us, and we do wish them great success in all their future endeavours.
