Essay Competition – Dare to Dream Essay Competition
In Term 1, all students were invited to take part in an essay competition about their dream volunteerism project.
Winners:
Klair Kelly – 1st place Lower School – Form 1
Ambika Persad – 2nd place Lower School – Form 3
Alaina Aria Singh – 1st place Upper School – Lower 6
Trishana Jeenath – 2nd place Upper School – Form 5
“I’m a Star” Competition
In Term 2, the NGHS Non Nobis Foundation proposed another competition: “I’m a Star”
This competition was open to the entire student body. The competition’s aim was to get students to create videos to show case their talents/skills in 2 of 12 stated skills, ranging from craft to cooking. Students had to create videos where they carried out the activity, whilst explaining the various steps involved.
There were 2 categories:
- either to submit 2 videos showing what they were able to do in the form of a DIY video whilst teaching the skills to another person
or - to submit 2 videos, one where they were doing one of the activities and another where another person was teaching her how to do one of the stated activities
Winners:
Melek Ramnath – 1st place – 1R
Ariel Ballintine – 2nd place – 1J
All winners will receive certificates of achievements and cash awards.
