The Caribbean Child Research Conference is a regional interdisciplinary conference covering a range of child related themes. The theme for this year was “Pandemic and Child Rights” hosted by UWI (SALISES, Mona) in conjunction with UNICEF. Vrishni S. Maharaj, of LVI A, initially placed in the top ten regionally, for her research paper concerning the effect of the pandemic on children’s rights to education, health and social protection. She then went on to defend her paper at the virtual conference on the 26th November, where after rigorous competition and impromptu questioning, she placed third, making the cut for the Top Three Caribbean Child Researchers Award 2020. Vrishni also won the award for Most Outstanding Oral Presenter.
Congratulations to Vrishni!
