Over the past month, the members of our Interact Club have been continuously planning, strategizing and learning their arguments in preparation for the Debate Tournament, hosted by The Rotary Club of San Fernando. Judged by specially invited guests, the Interact girls undoubtedly left them astonished after each riveting argument. From their body language, to their tone, it all made the difference in their astounding victory as they gained the FIRST PLACE title against four other competing Interact schools: St Joseph’s Convent San Fernando, ASJA Girls’ College San Fernando, Presentation College San Fernando and St Benedict’s College; all whom argued their stance over the Zoom platform.
Commendably, this was first time the NGHS Interactors competed in such a debate. This tournament was introduced to the respective schools to promote international understanding and to also encourage students to participate in inter-school competition. Once again, our students have proudly represented Naparima, even amidst these uncertain times.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the team: Shivanna Chatoor, Shivala Rampersad, Farzanah Rahaman, Kareena Balgobin, Kade De Gannes and Mikayla Chatoor, as well as, Ms. Poliah, for her continuous and attentive guidance, without all of whom none of these achievements would be possible.
