We sincerely hope that all our students and their families are safe and are continuing to heed the advice of the Ministers of Health and National Security along with the Chief Medical Officer.
During this time, you would have been in Term three, and as such your teachers have been making every attempt to liaise with you using different online learning platforms. They have been sending reading material, exercises on Google Classroom or “meeting” you on Google Meet or Zoom. We expect that you will appreciate that despite their own constraints, your teachers are making every effort to keep you engaged. The expectation by the school is that parents ensure that their daughters check regularly for work sent and attend classes that are scheduled. Teachers expect that students will respond appropriately to communications which are sent to them.
To those of you due to write the CSEC and CAPE examinations, we encourage you to continue your preparations using a schedule that allows for relaxation, exercise and rest. We will be guided by the Ministry of Education as to the implementation of these examinations.
We know that many of you may be missing school but we urge you to use this time constructively – spend quality family time, learn a new skill or engage in some form of physical activity. Be mindful that when we do return to school, it will not be school as you know it – it will be a “new normal”.
So, in the meantime, continue to be considerate of others by practising frequent hand washing, maintaining social-distancing and wearing a mask if you MUST go out.
Be safe everyone!
