Students of Naparima Girls’ High School continually strive for academic success at all levels. A notable example of this is current Lower Six student Danya Krystabelle James. Danya has been awarded the
President’s Medal Silver at the CSEC level for her outstanding performance. She attained 11 distinctions in the following subjects: Additional Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, English A, English B, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Spanish, Theatre Arts (Dance) and Visual Arts. Additionally, she ranked 5th in the Caribbean in English B according to the CSEC Merit List published by CXC.
Danya James is a phenomenal student both in and out of the classroom. She participates in a number of school clubs, namely the NGHS Dance Club, the NGHS Senior Choir, ISCF (Inter School Christian
Fellowship) and the Cheerleading Club. Outside of school, she partakes in ballet at the Eugene Joseph’s Trinidad Dance Theatres, is a member of the Presentation College Mixed Choir, and practises aerial gymnastics. Danya is
also a former member of the NGHS Peer Helpers Club.
Danya’s success will surely continue, as she is now studying 5 subjects at the CAPE level. Her subject choices are Applied Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Pure Mathematics, accompanied by Communication Studies and Caribbean Studies. She thanks God for her success and says that she could not have achieved such outstanding results on her own. She notes, from the Bible, Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” To her fellow students, Danya says, “Education is not simply an academic journey, but an opportunity to develop yourself holistically so that you can make a positive contribution to your world.” We at Naparima Girls’ High School commend Danya James on her amazing accomplishment and wish her continued success in all aspects of
her school life!
