Naparima Girls’ High School bids a heartfelt farewell to Mrs. Beverly Hinds-George — a beloved Dance teacher, gifted artist, and transformative educator whose unwavering dedication has left an indelible mark on our school and on every student fortunate enough to learn under her care.
Mrs. Beverly Hinds-George has been, for many years, an unwavering pillar of the Visual and Performing Arts Department at Naparima Girls’ High School — a teacher defined by dedication, humility, and quiet excellence. As our school’s Dance teacher, she carried the remarkable responsibility of teaching the entire lower school while simultaneously guiding examination-level students with love, patience, and discipline. Her classroom was a masterclass in efficiency and creativity, where structured learning and loving firmness worked seamlessly together within a single 35-minute period. Beyond the classroom, she was the driving force behind countless productions — from “Annie” and “The Sound of Music” to “Beauty and the Beast” — as well as Speech Day performances, Pep Rally, International Dance Day celebrations, and every spontaneous event that called for her artistic hand. Whether crafting extraordinary stage makeup or conjuring a glow-in-the-dark scorpion from dancers’ bodies, Mrs. Hinds-George brought theatrical magic to everything she touched, always showing up fully prepared and fully committed, yet always without fanfare.
Her greatest legacy, however, lives not in productions or programmes, but in the students whose lives she transformed. She created a safe and nurturing space where every student — regardless of background or prior experience — was given the chance to grow, to stumble, and to try again, instilling in them not only a love for dance but the courage to embrace self-expression. Her influence has carried students from uncertain beginners to confident performers, and in some cases, from distant childhood dreams to university degrees in dance. We admire her patience, her gentle encouragement, and her effortless ability to make even the most complex choreography feel manageable. She is, in every sense, an immovable force — so deeply woven into the fabric of school life that her absence is already felt profoundly. Mrs. Hinds-George leaves behind a legacy of artistry, grace, and transformative care that will continue to echo through every student she has ever touched.
As you step into this well-deserved new chapter, Mrs. Hinds-George, please know that the halls of NGHS will forever hold the echo of your artistry, your patience, and your immovable spirit.
We wish you rest, joy, peace, and every fulfillment you so richly deserve. Thank you for everything. You will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and always appreciated.
