The Interact Club of NGHS brings together young people between the ages of 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. Several projects are organized throughout the Rotary Year calendar that encourage the members of the club to connect with their school and the wider community. The NGHS Interact Club is part of the Rotary District 7030 which comprises high schools throughout the entire Caribbean.
On Sunday 10th July, a Conference and Awards Ceremony was held which intended to bring together Interactors from across the Caribbean to showcase their contributions and impact in the District throughout the Rotary Year 2021-2022. Interact clubs have the opportunity to achieve various awards in different categories.
The Executive Committee of the NGHS Interact Club consisting of Renessa Ramsingh (President), Cherisse Mohammed (Vice-President), Emily Ramgoolam (Secretary), Sakshi Kushwaha (Treasurer) and Samara Beharry and Kristy Seecharan (PRO’s) effectively guided their club through all projects throughout the year and were instrumental in the Club’s success that evening.
The following were the awards which were won by the Club:
- Zone 34 Interact Citation
- My Peacebuilder Foundations Recognition
- Certificate of Appreciation for contribution and support of PolioPlus and
- The District Governor Citation for extraordinary service and overall exemplary participation in Interact Activities during the Rotary Year 2021-22
