Azizah Mohammed of Form 4H entered the United Nations Trinidad and Tobago Human Rights Day Art Competition where the theme focused on “The World I Want”. Azizah’s submission of a painting was inspired by current global issues and incorporated the use of various logos and symbols to depict some of these concerns. In addition, the image of a child became the focal point in her painting to emphasize the need for society to pay more attention to the opinions of the youth, as they are the future of the nation and by extension, the world.
Azizah’s painting earned her 3rd place, an Amazon Gift Card and a feature article in the Guardian Newspaper. Azizah expressed great surprise and pride at the news of her placing third out of 150 participants. According to her, this experience has taught her that one must always go out and try new things, regardless of success. What matters is the impact one is able to make.
Well done Azizah!
