The First Edition of this cookbook was published by the Naparima Girls High School Alumnae Association in 1988. The Second Edition was published by the school in 2002.

This cookbook brings together a collection of recipes reflecting the tastes of the diverse ethnic groups of Trinidad and Tobago. Many of the recipes have been handed down from generation to generation and have altered little with time. Recipes included are Creole, East Indian, Chinese, Spanish, English, Syrian Lebanese (Middle Eastern) as well as those of other Caribbean Islands.

The current interest in Caribbean cooking is part of a trend towards an appreciation of ethnic foods and the cuisine of Trinidad and Tobago affords a wide selection of dishes encompassing the globe.

With more than 500 recipes and 32 coloured photographs, this book is a comprehensive guide to Trinidad and Tobago cuisine. It offers a wide variety of recipes and caters to everyone’s taste. The health conscious will be particularly pleased with the inclusion of nutrition facts on the recipes.

The people of the twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago have a shared love of food and a Trinbagonian will seize every opportunity to entertain a guest, have a fete or “lime.” Trini hospitality is well known around the world.

This cookbook will be a useful and interesting addition to your collection of recipe books.
