Naps installs new Prefect Body

On Tuesday 20 th September, 2016, at the Susamachar Presbyterian Church, the Prefects for the

academic year 2016-2017 were installed at a morning service officiated by the Moderator of the

Presbyterian Church in Trinidad and Tobago, Rev. Annabell Lalla Ramkhelawan.

The beautiful renditions of the Senior Choir along with the Bible passage taken from at the

beginning of the service focused on the idea of team work in achieving a goal. The guest

speaker, Dr. Katija Khan, a former Naps girl, and currently one of two neuroscientists in

Trinidad and Tobago; also echoed the same sentiment. She encouraged the newly elected body to

accept their roles gracefully not as simply Prefects but as young women in society by lifting each

other up and co-operating to achieve a goal. The Prefects Oath “Do you promise to carry out

your duties faithfully seeking always the honour of your school,” led by the Principal, Mrs. Bally

Gosine was a reminder to Prefects that their duty was not a self serving one but one that should

fulfil the end goal; the honor of Naparima Girls’ High School.
